On Tuesday morning, more than 100 rail staff members refused to show up for their scheduled shifts. Passengers were warned about increased cancellations throughout the day due to the ongoing industrial action.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson confirmed that the train timetable was “close” to schedule early in the morning. However, after 5 a.m., delays worsened as Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink employees continued their strike.

A total of 115 train drivers and guards skipped their shifts, intensifying the dispute over wages. The transport network struggled to maintain operations, causing frustration for thousands of daily commuters.

Sydney Commuters Face Ongoing Delays

Rail services were severely impacted by staff shortages, forcing many passengers to seek alternative travel options. Despite official reassurances, train delays worsened as the morning progressed.
