Students created the concept of an unmanned tram for Skoda Transportation
24.05.2022
A group of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering led by Jan Mikeska presented the most developed autonomous tram concept as part of the DESING+ educational project, which has been held at the university for 18 times.
Rolling stock maker Skoda has been one of the sponsors of the project this year, Railway Supply reports.
The concept assumes that the tram will carry passengers during the day, and boxes with orders from online stores at night.
They will be placed in special compartments in the middle of the car. The unloading of the tram will be carried out at stops using special robotic manipulators.
