Siemens Mobility continues to strengthen its position in the global railway infrastructure market by securing contracts to supply ETCS Level 2 train control signaling systems in Oman and Finland, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

In Oman, Siemens Mobility, in partnership with Hassam Allam Construction, has signed a contract with OMAN-Etihad Railway Company to supply ETCS Level 2 systems for the new Abu Dhabi – Sohar railway route, spanning 303 km.

This route promises to be a crucial link in the region’s transportation infrastructure, with adaptations to local terrain and climate conditions ensuring effective operation.

In Finland, Siemens Mobility will also supply ETCS Level 2 systems as part of the “Digirail project,” funded by the Finnish government.

The project involves installing train control and detection systems on the railway section between Lielahti and Rauma-Pori, covering 191 km, with completion scheduled for 2027.

The delivery of advanced ETCS Level 2 systems underscores Siemens Mobility’s role in modern railway infrastructure and its commitment to ensuring safety and efficiency in railway operations worldwide.
