Almost every second gondola car of Ukrzaliznytsia is sent for repairs after a voyage, ”said the deputy director of the department. – You can imagine how the efficiency of using the UZ fleet decreases, and what additional work the railway does to transport “sick” wagons for repair and re-supply for loading. Therefore, our empty mileage coefficient is twice worse than that of the railways of neighboring countries “

At the same time, according to him, large shippers “are forced to create entire repair shops to prepare UZ cars for loading.” Thus, private business incurs additional costs for the renewal of rolling stock.

UZ itself has now formed a system of financing the repairs of freight cars, subject to the availability of funds. In this case, the main parts are removed from other cars owned by the company.
