07.09.2022
In August this year, at the headquarters of Polskie Koleje Państwowe SA, the Charter of the PKP Group was signed. Multilateral agreement that completes many years of work on the creation of a holding company for the PKP Group. The main purpose of its creation is to strengthen the market position of Polish railways and their further development, reports Railway Supply magazine with reference to PKP Group.
The solemn signing of the contract was attended by representatives of 18 companies that are part of the holding, and Maciej Malecki, Secretary of the Ministry of State Assets.
The last few years have definitely been a good time for Polish railways. It is also a time of multi-billion investment in rolling stock – wagons, locomotives, electric trains and intermodal transport. All this is a huge success for the Polish railways. I hope that this good trend will continue in the coming years, and the synergies resulting from the creation of the PKP Group holding will increase the importance of Polish railways in the international arena, says Maciej Malecki, Secretary of the Ministry of State Assets.
Britain: for each ticket purchased, the railways will plant one tree
The creation of the holding company PKP Group is a huge success and the crowning achievement of our many years of efforts. Through its establishment, as PKP Group, we will be able to work even more efficiently, deepening existing cooperation between companies and taking it to a whole new level. The creation of a holding company will make Polish railways even more competitive in the context of opening up the rail transport market, as well as improve its management. This will allow dynamic development, strengthen business potential and, therefore, will have a positive impact on many areas of activity, including, in particular, the further development of services in the passenger segment, says Krzysztof Maminski, Chairman of the Board of PKP S.A.
The holding has an open structure. The creation of the holding is a guarantee of strengthening the market position of Polish railways and their further development.
