PKP Cargo has signed a major contract for the transportation of coal

PKP Cargo has signed another coal rail transport agreement with Tauron Wydobycie. Its cost is about 68 million zlotys (15 million euros). The contract is valid from February 5, 2021 and is concluded for 12 months. The estimated total volume of transported coal is approximately 3.7 million tonnes. This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to PKP Cargo

Coal is intended for power plants of the Tauron group. Coal will be transported by separate wagons, wagon groups and block trains.

Tauron Group is one of the largest business entities in Poland. The main activity is coal mining, production, distribution and sale of electricity and heat. The group annually supplies more than 45 TW of electricity to more than 5.3 million end users.
