New cargo route launched between China and Kazakhstan

In early April, a container train arrived in Nur-Sultan from the city of Nanning, the administrative center of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. The new service was organized as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to the press service of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.

The container train departed from the Nanning International Railway Terminal on March 17, and, having covered more than 5 thousand kilometers, delivered 49 forty-foot containers with heavy construction equipment.

KTZ issued the first electronic transit declaration in the port of Aktau

The cargo was transported by a Kazakh multimodal operator, a subsidiary of JSC “NC“ KTZ ”- JSC“ KTZ Express ”. The operator provided a full range of services for the provision of rolling stock, freight forwarding, registration of a package of shipping documents.

The new logistics channel made it possible to reduce the delivery time by 3 times. Previously, construction equipment was transported by cars. Delivery time took over 45 days.
