More than a million passengers used the services of PKP Intercity during the holidays. The current year has started very well for the carrier. Its trains carried more than 13.7 million people in the first quarter, Railway Supply magazine reported, citing Raport Kolejowy.

During the Easter period, PKP Intercity increased the number of railcars on the most popular routes. The carrier reinforced 290 trains with an additional 435 cars. From Wednesday, April 5 to Tuesday, April 11, 1.1 million passengers used its services. On average, about 160 thousand people a day traveled in the trains of the national carrier.

Network Rail Helps Rebuild Ukraine

In 2022, 59 million people used the services of the national carrier, which is the best result in the history of the company. Thus, the record of 2019 was broken, when almost 49 million passengers traveled on PKP Intercity trains. The results of the first quarter of 2023 show that the company has a chance to set a record again. 13.7 million passengers is the best result in over 20 years of PKP Intercity history.
