More than a hundred railway stations will be repaired in the Czech Republic

The Czech railway infrastructure operator Správa železnic plans to renovate and reconstruct a total of 114 buildings this year. They will receive modern check-in areas and barrier-free access. The financing costs for these projects will amount to 1.75 billion kroons (67 million euros), informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to the press release of Správa železnic.

54 projects will begin this year, another 60 are continuing from 2020 and, in the vast majority of cases, will be completed. “2021 will be an important milestone, for example for the main railway station in Prague, where two major projects will follow each other smoothly. In the spring, the reconstruction of the facade of the “Josef Fanta building” will be completed and at the same time the general reconstruction of the interior of this architectural monument will begin, “the press service of the company reports.

In addition, significant work is planned for the modernization of the Pardubice and Havířové railway stations. Construction projects will affect all regions of the country. In particular, dozens of public toilets will be repaired.
