The European Union is supporting the modernization of the railway system in the Republic of Moldova

The European Union and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development are supporting the modernization of the railway system in the Republic of Moldova. This information was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply, citing Oleg Tofilat.

The EU is offering a grant of 20 million euros to Moldova, while the EBRD is providing a preferential loan of 23 million euros.

Funding will cover the expenses for the renovation of two railway sections, enabling increased transportation of goods from Ukraine to the EU through Moldova.
