Končar KEV has signed a contract for the supply of electric trains

Končar KEV has signed a contract with the Croatian national passenger operator HŽPP for the supply of electric trains: 11 electric trains for the suburban transport of Zagreb and 10 for regional routes, as Railway Supply magazine reports citing Railway Gazette.

The first is to be delivered in the fall of 2022, the last by December 2023.

EMU will be an updated version of the 6112 class in accordance with TSI standards. The electric trains will be equipped with passenger information systems, video surveillance, Wi-Fi, bicycles holders, areas for passengers with reduced mobility and ETCS Level 2 equipment.

The EU’s Operational Programme Competitiveness & Cohesion 2014–20 is covering 85% of the 844,7m HRK cost of the order signed on November 17, with the remainder coming from the state budget.
