Intercity trains will connect all regional centers of Ukraine until 2023
Intercity trains will connect all regional centers until 2023. This is stated in the reform plan for 2021-2023, which was presented at the meeting of the Servant of the People faction in Truskavets.
This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply.
According to the plan, by 2023 Intercity trains will connect all regional centers, the city express will start operating in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Kharkiv, and 25 industrial parks will appear.
In addition, special tourist economic zones will be created, and 10 national parks will become real tourist sites with the necessary infrastructure.
The program provides for two railway infrastructure facilities:
– construction and electrification of the second track from Zaporozhye to Mariupol;
– construction of a new branch in the Luhansk region (a feasibility study for this project is already in progress).
Note that the deputies urge the government to invest part of the IMF funds in the electrification of Ukrzaliznytsia.
