Rail passengers have experienced disruptions to their journey this morning due to heavy snowfall in London, the South East and East Anglia. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine with reference to RailUK.

Further disruptions are expected as Network Rail teams do their best to clear the railroad of snow and ice so train operators can work safely in inclement weather. Hundreds of staff armed with specialist kit will defrost frozen points and signals, and trains with snow ploughs will be used to clear tracks where needed.

However, due to heavy snowfall, overnight passengers will still experience flight cancellations or delays on some routes. Passengers are urged to check online on the company’s website to see if their train is running before heading to the station.
