ES3000 for 1520 mm gauge
28.02.2023
Last week, Bulgarian shunter manufacturer Express Service shipped the first 1520 mm ES3000 to Transachema. The company notes that they are now ready to supply shunting equipment to the Baltic countries and, most importantly, to Ukraine. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine, citing the manufacturer.
Battery traction ensures economical, clean and safe manoeuvring. These locomotives have extremely low operating costs and require virtually no maintenance. They have many advantages over diesel shunters.

Mainly, battery shunting locomotives are applied:
– in locomotive and car repair depots
– at rolling stock manufacturers
– at industrial enterprises
– in ports
– in logistics terminals
Due to their relatively low design speed, vehicles have excellent starting traction. In the ES3000 heavy-duty version, the weight of the locomotive can reach up to 50 tons with a shunting capacity of up to 4000 tons at low speed.
Based on the success of the ES200, 400, 600, and 1000 series models, Express Service has developed several special battery vehicles. A three-axle light shunter, extra heavy battery shunter, work vehicle with crane and platform – all these are based on the proven design of ES shunters.
