Bulgarian company Express Service will send two ES1000 battery locomotives to Romania. The customer is Romanian locomotive manufacturer Softtronic and operator Softrans. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine with reference to Express Service.

“We are producing the first 2 ES1000s for Softtronic and their operator Softrans. They will use them in the technical depots in Romania and Hungary. Softronic are our colleagues who share our values of environmentally friendly and efficient transport. That is why next year they will be equipped with our ES1000s. ” – commented in the company.

Battery traction provides economical, clean and safe shunting, and battery locomotives have extremely low maintenance cost and virtually maintenance-free. They have many advantages over diesel shunters.

Battery-powered locomotives can provide almost the entire range of shunting operations in locomotive and wagon repair depots and workshops, at rolling stock manufacturers, industrial enterprises, ports, and logistics terminals.
