Electrification of the Dolinskaya – Nikolaev – Kolosovka railway line has been postponed. Ukrzaliznytsia will start implementing a project on the electrification of the Dolinskaya – Nikolaev – Kolosovka railway line in 2021, as Railway Supply magazine reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

This was announced by Deputy Finance Minister Alexander Kava.

“Now the tender procedure is underway, and next year we will star works on the electrification of the Dolinskaya – Nikolaev section with a total length of 148 kilometers. The implementation of the project will increase the throughput of the railway in the direction of the Nikolaev port cluster, which is one of the largest in Ukraine and handles more than 25 million tons of cargo annually, ” Kava said.

The railway electrification project is financed with loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB)
