In 2022, the Czech railway infrastructure operator Správa železnic (SŽ) will have a budget of $2.5 billion, informs railway magazine Railway Supply, citing Správa železnic (SŽ).

The priority areas of the company’s activity will be the modernization of lines and stations, preparation for the construction of high-speed lines, as well as improving safety at crossings.

Key projects include the modernization of the Pardubice railway junction, the reconstruction of the Usti nad Orlicy – Brandys nad Orlicy and Velim – Porzychane lines.

The renovation of the main railway station in Prague will continue. In 2022, it is planned to put into operation the new sections Sudnomerzhitsa – Votitsy and Sobeslav – Doubi with a total length of 28.7 km.

In the first quarter of 2022, SŽ plans to announce the results of an architectural competition for the construction of a high-speed railway station in Roudnice nad Labem.

Projects to modernize at least 150 level crossings will also be completed.
