The prototype of the robot for performing the operations of releasing the brakes and gravity shunting is undergoing the final stages of testing.

The robotic complex was created by the Magnitogorsk NPO Androidnaya Tekhnika. The next stage of testing is planned for autumn, close to real operating conditions, informs Railway Supply  magazine.

Now specialists are developing two types of infrastructure – for the release of brakes and gravity shunting.

It is assumed that due to this technology, a person would not be in dangerous areas of the infrastructure, and the level of intensity of rolling stock maintenance will also increase. Moreover, the complex can withstand low temperatures. It can work in heavy snowfalls and harsh thaws.

The robotic complex includes: a mobile platform, a manipulation robot, vision, communication and security modules.
