Nearly a month after the accident at the Zidani Most station in Slovenia, Felbermayr managed to lift a 300-tonne transformer substation that had overturned as a result of a platform derailment. Railway Supply magazine writes about this, citing Kurier Kolejowy.
On January 7 this year at 1:38 a.m., a freight train derailed at Zidani Most railway station. A Norca-type platform loaded with a transformer substation overturned, causing extensive damage and one person being seriously injured.
Operail wants to transport Russian cargo
Almost a month after the accident, the overturned 300-ton transformer was finally lifted. Felbermayr employees, using two Liebherr cranes, removed the Norca-type wagon, on which the transformer substation was loaded, and then, after transporting and assembling the Liebherr LR 1750 crane, they lifted the transformer itself.
To minimize traffic disruption, work was carried out between train arrivals with delays minimization. The transformer is lifted and placed on the platform, the tracks will be repaired so that a new, specially adapted train can run on them. The cargo will be transported back to the manufacturer.
