Deutsche Bahn: Ambitious Plans for Modernization

Despite rumors of potential cost-cutting, the company intends to invest an impressive sum – around €12 billion by 2030 – in acquiring new ICE trains.

This will reduce the average age of the rolling stock from 18 to 12 years.

The delivery of 137 ICE 4 trains under the contract with Siemens Mobility is nearing completion, and the order for 90 ICE 3neo trains is ongoing.

Additionally, Talgo is also fulfilling orders for the production of ICE series trains.

By the end of the decade, it is expected that Deutsche Bahn’s ICE fleet will grow to 450 units.

These investments will not only update Germany’s transportation infrastructure but also make travel more comfortable and safer for passengers.

Expanding the ICE fleet can also stimulate economic growth and enhance Deutsche Bahn’s competitiveness in the European passenger transport market.
