The Railway Children

The story by Edith Nesbit (1858-1924) concerns a family with three children which moves from London to a small country house near the railway, after the father, who works at the Foreign Office, is imprisoned after being falsely accused of spying. No more servants, mother is always at work, so the kids have to entertain themselves. And they do, running around and having adventures. Their positive attitude, intelligence and resourcefulness help children to get out of tough situations and find many real friends.
