DART budgetary management is reflected in new recognition for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). The agency has been named recipient of the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The award came from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). It was given for DART’s fiscal-year 2026 annual budget and 20-year financial plan.

DART budgetary management and the budget award

Separately, DART outlined that point in a DART press release. The agency said the award reflects its commitment to strong financial management. It also reflects transparency in government budgeting.

According to the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Program, DART’s budget documents had to satisfy national guidelines. They had to demonstrate excellence as a policy, financial plan, operations guide and communication tool. More than 1,900 government entities participated in this year’s budget award program.
