In an online article, CSX officials said shippers benefit from the Class I’s national reach. In addition, they cited Regional Rail’s local expertise, freight transloading and industrial development services. Progressive Railroading described Regional Rail LLC as a short-line holding company. The company has operations across the United States and western Canada.

Mark Meyer serves as AVP of marketing and sales for Regional Rail’s southern district. He described the relationship this way.
