Starting from 2026, these innovative carriages will undergo passenger trials on the British rail network, gathering data on the demand for such modes of transportation and supporting the decarbonization efforts in transit.
Measuring 18.9 meters in length and accommodating up to 56 passengers, the RVLR promises efficiency and eco-friendliness.
Its maximum speed of 104 km/h ensures swift and comfortable travel.
The modular construction, incorporating composite panels of carbon fiber and aluminum structure, provides a balance of lightness and strength.
A unique feature of RVLR is its hybrid diesel-electric engine with battery packs and LN25 bogie.
The energy recuperation system during braking achieves zero CO2 emissions, aligning with the pursuit of sustainable transport.
Eversholt Rail’s order signals a keen interest in innovation from major carriers in the UK.
RVLR’s operation will commence post-assembly in the Midlands, starting from 2026.
These steps aim to meet passenger needs while making the transportation system more resilient and environmentally friendly.
