The 10,000-square-meter facility, housing around 500 employees, will focus on various aspects of the company’s activities, including the development of rolling stock and components, CBTC systems, and service maintenance.

Record-breaking freight transfer figures were reported at Polish border crossings

The center also features a laboratory for testing the performance and reliability of power installations before their deployment.

It’s worth noting that Alstom’s electric motor manufacturing plant is located in Västerås.

Overall, the company owns 16 service and 3 engineering centers throughout the country.

Alstom reports that over 1,000 trains produced at its facilities are currently in operation in Sweden. In 2022, the manufacturer signed an agreement with the national Swedish carrier SJ to deliver 25 high-speed Zefiro Express electric trains starting from 2026.
