Railway platform with adjustable gauge

VTG has unveiled details about railway platforms with adjustable gauge, developed in collaboration with the Slovak company Tatravagonka, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The new six-axle articulated platform model T4000 is designed for transporting containers, semi-trailers, and mounting interchangeable bodies. It has a maximum speed of 120 km/h and a payload capacity of 84 tons, which can be increased to 98 tons at a speed of 100 km/h.

The main feature of the platform is its ability to operate on tracks with gauges of 1435 mm and 1668 mm, thanks to special hooks for lifting frame chassis and replacing wheelsets.
VTG plans to deliver 200 of these wagons and 199 container platforms to Spain by the end of the year with the support of a government grant of €37.7 million under the transport decarbonization program.
