Yosaria Trains Acquires Former DB Double-Decker Sleeping Cars
13.06.2023
Yosaria Trains (Slovakia) has acquired 35 double-decker sleeping cars previously used on Deutsche Bahn CityNightLine services, according to the Railway Supply magazine.
The private operator plans to use them on the 540-kilometer route from Bratislava to Zilina, Kosice, and Humenne, with a timetable change on December 10, 2023.
YT was established in 2014 and received approval from the national transport authority DÚ in July 2022 to operate daily overnight trains in both directions on the route.

YT aims to offer comfortable sleeping conditions with a maximum of two beds per compartment.
Passengers in the DeLuxe class will have a separate toilet and shower in each compartment.
The WLABm171 and WLBm172 vehicles, capable of speeds up to 200 km/h, were manufactured by Schindler Waggon, SGP, and Talbot in 1995.
The first four were purchased by YT between 2017 and 2021, and one was refurbished by ŽOS Vrútky and EVPÚ Nová Dubnica for authorization and as a prototype.
In 2022, YT acquired three locomotives of classes 183, 240, and 754 from ZSSK, as well as a two-axle diesel shunting vehicle of class 700.
