WisDOT unlocks federal infrastructure framework for major 2027 freight network overhaul
06.06.2026
Wisconsin State Freight Plan feedback is being sought by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The request concerns the draft Public Involvement Plan for its 2027 update.

Draft Public Involvement Plan for freight update
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, state freight plans are updated every four years. In addition, the cycle is tied to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The WisDOT process is designed to address freight-related needs across Wisconsin.
The draft Public Involvement Plan sets out WisDOT’s outreach framework for the State Freight Plan update. Also, public engagement will include the general public and affected stakeholders. This is intended to ensure decisions reflect the needs of freight system users.
Residents and stakeholders can review the draft Public Involvement Plan on the Wisconsin State Freight Plan page. Feedback will be accepted through July 17.
