Wagons with Ukrainian grain derailed in Romania

The INFOTRAFFIC Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police reported that the railway traffic on section 400 Brasov-Satu Mare was blocked due to the derailment of two wagons belonging to freight train 76014, which was carrying grain and following the Dej – Constanta route. Investigators do not exclude any of the hypotheses, including sabotage.

It happened Tuesday afternoon in the Rapa de Jos area (Mures County). No casualties were reported, according to police. Special equipment was deployed to the area to return the wagons to the rails, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing Adevarul.
The train, consisting of 30 grain wagons, is owned by the national rail freight operator and runs on the route Dej Triai – Port of Constanta.

“The overturning of two train cars occurred between the Monor Gledin – Rapa de Jos stations. In order to maintain the continuity of rail passenger traffic, SRCF Cluj will provide transshipment on the Saratel – Deda line and cancel the schedule of some trains on the alternative route through Razboen” , the press release says.
Specialized staff of SRCF Cluj is present on site and takes all necessary measures to ensure the continuity of railway traffic. National railway company CFR S.A. apologizes to passengers for the delays caused by this situation. Railway employees will constantly cooperate with representatives of the freight operator and provide all necessary technical assistance in putting the wagons back on the rails and restoring traffic to normal.
