The multi-million-dollar order aims to provide equipment for the New York City subway system, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.

Wabtec signs an agreement

American manufacturer Wabtec has announced that Kawasaki has chosen its brakes and couplings for use on the new subway rolling stock in New York.

Railway Transport Legislation in Ukraine

Wabtec stated that the equipment agreement ensures seamless integration with other parks of the New York City Transit System (NYCTS).

The equipment produced under the contract will be manufactured in the United States at a facility in South Carolina.

Meanwhile, Kawasaki will manufacture R211 subway cars at its facilities in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Yonkers, New York.

This contract involves equipment for up to 640 subway cars, with deliveries expected in 2025 and 2026.
