V/Line services suspended on Bendigo, Swan Hill and Echuca lines
12.01.2026
V/Line services suspended across three regional corridors on Monday, January 12, as crews assess and repair fire damage linked to bushfires in Victoria’s north, according to a V/Line disruption notice.

This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
No trains will run today on the Bendigo Line, Swan Hill Line or Echuca Line, and passengers are being asked to avoid unnecessary travel, as reported by Rail Express.
V/Line services suspended: what’s running and what isn’t
On the Bendigo Line, a coach replacement service Sunbury to Castlemaine will operate on a limited basis. Passengers should use a Metro Trains service between Sunbury and the city. Due to planned works on the metropolitan network, services after 8pm will operate to Southern Cross.

Swan Hill Line replacement coaches and stopping pattern
For the Swan Hill Line replacement coaches, V/Line said only a limited number will run between Swan Hill and Southern Cross. The stopping pattern is limited to Kerang and Pyramid only, after which the coaches will run express to Southern Cross.
Echuca Line suspended with no replacement coaches
The Echuca Line no replacement coaches arrangement remains in place today, meaning there will be no coach replacement services operating for Echuca passengers.
V/Line also warned that scheduled coaches connecting to stations on lines that are still operating will not connect to a train or replacement service.
Coach services may also be cancelled at short notice or may not service select stops due to road closures or emergency services requests, as noted in a Transport Victoria update.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, January 13, V/Line said coach replacement services are unable to be sourced for Bendigo and Echuca passengers due to uncertain road conditions and coach and driver availability.
