The Ukrainian company has proposed to make double-decker compartments in train carriages. The developers believe that riding on the top bunk is dangerous and difficult.

The company “International Business Cooperation”, which is engaged in the development and manufacture of interiors for carriages, cabins for locomotives and trams, has created a project for a double-deck train compartment, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to BuildingTech.

“We looked at the passenger carriage, at how it is arranged, and thought that there is something to improve. We believe that in compartment cars the access of passengers to second-level shelves is very difficult and dangerous, ”said Igor Telichko, General Director of International Business Cooperation.

Changes are proposed to be made taking into account the current dimensions of the existing wagons. Stairs to the second floor, which is separated from the lower one, lead from the corridor. It is proposed to expand the space for the upper part of the compartment by lowering the floor in the places of the partitions between the compartments.
