Türkiye prepares to launch HSR Ankara-Sivas

The Ankara-Sivas high-speed line will open on April 28, 2023, shortly after the end of the holy month of Ramadan. This was announced by Turkish Minister of Transport Adil Karaysmailoglu. Previously, the launch of the speed line was postponed several times, Railway Supply magazine reports, citing zdmira.
The HSR Ankara-Sivas is designed for a speed of 250 km/h. Its length is 405 km, which is one third less than the length of the conventional railway connecting these cities. The duration of the trip between the end points of the HSR will be reduced to 2 hours.
Renovated bridge and tunnel in the Czech Republic
There are 49 tunnels on the highway with a total length of 66 km and 49 bridge structures with a total length of 27.2 km, with one of the flyovers having a height of 88.6 m.
The opening of the HSR with six intermediate stations will contribute to the socio-economic development of the three Turkish provinces. In the future, the highway may become part of a high-speed corridor that will connect the European part of Turkey with Kars, located near the border with Georgia.
