The construction for the first ever electric high-speed train production and testing facility in Türkiye has already begun in the northwestern province of Sakarya.

The facility will belong to Türkiye Rail System Vehicles Industry (TÜRASAŞ) and will measure around 15,000 square meters.
The project will generate around 250 new jobs, along with contributing around $84 million annually, according to information supplied by Uraloğlu.
He added that earthwork has already been accomplished, and ground improvement construction is currently ongoing prior to placing the foundation.
The minister made it clear that the factory will be constructed using only local and national resources.
Türkiye focuses on domestic train production
Uraloğlu stated that the National Electric High-Speed Train Manufacturing and Test Factory will produce Türkiye’s first domestically developed electric high-speed train, capable of reaching 225 km/h.
Once operational, the factory will have the capacity to manufacture and test 12 high-speed train sets annually. He added that the new plant will also support Türkiye’s R&D and technology infrastructure, the growth of domestic industry, and the wider economy.
“This factory will enable us to produce the high-speed train sets that our country requires,” said Uraloğlu.
