04.09.2025
Halle city in Germany has initiated the test run for the new-generation Stadler TINA tram during the process of modernizing the public transportation system ahead of full-scale commercial runs.

This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Stadler delivers innovative TINA tram to Halle
HAVAG signed an initial contract with Stadler for the delivery of 56 low-floor TINA trams, including 30- and 45-meter models. There will be initial trial runs for three months; the trams will subsequently enter regular operation.

The new tram is fitted with air conditioning, panoramic windows, and multi-purpose zones for wheelchairs or strollers. Meanwhile, advanced driver assistance and onboard video monitoring ensure safety and reliability.
New tram will increasingly replace outdated models
TINA trams have high capacity: the short version has the potential for seating 167 individuals, the long one 269. So they will replace the Duewag MGT6D trams, which have been operating in Halle for over 30 years.
HAVAG will start trial operation using the shortened version in November 2025. In the meantime, the new units are already highly comfortable and are awaiting integration with the city’s transport network.
Stadler TINA: What is it?
This is the next-generation low-floor bus with high passenger safety and comfort. There is an air-conditioning system, video monitoring, and driver-assistance technology.
When will commercial service for the new tram begin?
After the three-month pilot operation in Halle, the Stadler TINA tram will enter regular operation, offering improved urban mobility.
How is the new tram different from previous ones?
TINA are the larger, modern-styled, full low-floor operation trams. They will replace the aging Duewag MGT6D sets that have served Halle for more than thirty years.
