The initial tram arrived in Brandenburg’s capital from Valencia, Spain, after assembly there. Meanwhile, Stadler assembles a second unit, and Berlin and Velten will produce 11 more.
Over the next few weeks, engineers will test the delivered tram before it starts operating. This ensures reliability, so residents enjoy seamless and efficient public transport soon.
ViP’s fully low-floor trams stretch 42 meters, featuring eight doors and holding 246 passengers. With 74 seats, they outsize Variobahn models, also from Stadler, by 12 meters.
These trams offer barrier-free access, wide aisles, and spaces for parents with strollers. Additionally, they include wheelchair zones, because inclusivity drives their design, with two dedicated spots.
Tramlink Potsdam Boosts Accessibility
In February, Milan launched its first of 74 trams, ordered in 2020 for $186 million. This milestone underscores Stadler’s role in advancing urban transit across Europe today.
Built in Środa Wielkopolska, Poland, this tram reflects cutting-edge engineering and thoughtful design. Consequently, it promises efficiency, and upcoming tests will confirm its operational readiness soon.
Stadler Rail expands production, with plants in Spain, Germany, and Poland working together. Thus, the company meets demand, delivering innovative trams to cities like Potsdam efficiently.
Tramlink Potsdam Enhances Urban Mobility
Potsdam’s transit network gains significantly, as modern trams improve capacity and accessibility for everyone. Residents eagerly await their debut, because sustainable mobility takes a leap forward now.

Testing starts shortly, and officials expect a smooth rollout for the new tram fleet. With this addition, ViP reinforces its commitment, ensuring reliable and inclusive transit for all.
