Wabtec has introduced a new line of traction modules for combined movement called Commander NXT, which includes four models with traction force ranging from 115 to 183 kN., this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Raj Gupta, President and CEO of Wabtec’s Track Maintenance division, noted that thanks to a narrower frame and an improved wheel stabilization system, the Commander NXT will be able to effectively navigate routes with complex terrain, tunnels, and negotiate tight curves without power loss.
Furthermore, all models are equipped with telematics and the ShuttleLaunch system, designed to optimize traction, reduce wheel slippage, and increase tire life.
These traction modules are produced by the American company Shuttlewagon, which was acquired by Wabtec in March 2021.
Since its founding in 1972, Shuttlewagon has supplied products to over 1,000 customers in 12 sectors of the economy.
