Thousands of railway workers confront the bad weather in Ukraine
Over the past day, more than 3000 railway workers have been involved in snow fighting activities in Ukraine. It was especially “hot” on the Odessa highway. Here the thickness of the snow cover reached 30 cm, and icing added additional troubles. Bad weather almost paralyzed automobile traffic, and rail transport remained almost the only one that was working properly.
This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the press center of the regional branch of the Odessa Railway.
“Despite the bad weather, there were no significant train delays,” the press center informed on 28 January. They also added that the greatest contribution to uninterrupted traffic was made by employees of the Odessa and Shevchenko directorates of railway transportation.
