A new tourist tram line, Dujiangyan M-TR, has opened in China, located northwest of Chengdu, the administrative center of Sichuan Province, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The route stretches 13.8 km, connecting various regional attractions, making it appealing to both tourists and locals.
The main route begins at the Baozao Temple, then crosses the Jinma River and heads south to the city of cultural tourism and Mount Qingcheng.
The latter is a major point on the route as it serves as an interchange with the terminus of the railway from Chengdu.
Thus, the Dujiangyan M-TR line plays an important role in the region’s transportation infrastructure, providing easier access to popular tourist destinations.
The line is served by 26 modern low-floor five-section trams of the Citadis 302 model, developed by the French company Alstom.
These trams were manufactured at the CRRC facility in Chengdu under license from Alstom.

The French company also provided bogies and traction equipment, ensuring high quality and reliability of the rolling stock.
The trams can reach speeds of up to 70 km/h, accommodate up to 292 passengers, and measure 32 meters in length.
Special attention has been given to adapting the trams to the region’s subtropical climate, ensuring passenger comfort in all weather conditions.
The launch of this tram line is a significant event for the region.
It not only improves transportation between important tourist sites but also promotes domestic tourism.

Citadis 302 trams are known for their efficiency and comfort.
They are equipped with modern safety systems and passenger amenities, including air conditioning and information systems.
The low-floor design provides easy access for people with disabilities and elderly passengers, making the tram ride enjoyable and comfortable for all passenger categories.
The opening of the Dujiangyan M-TR line is part of a broader strategy to develop transportation infrastructure in China.
Investments in modern and environmentally friendly modes of transportation, such as trams, demonstrate the country’s commitment to sustainable development and improving citizens’ quality of life.

Moreover, the use of electric tramways contributes to reducing carbon emissions and improving the environmental situation in the region.
In conclusion, the launch of the new tourist tram line Dujiangyan M-TR with thematic panda trams represents an important step in developing the tourism infrastructure of Sichuan Province.
This event not only enhances transportation and attracts tourists but also underscores China’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development.
In the future, similar projects are expected to play an increasingly important role in improving the quality of life and economic growth in China’s regions.
