Over the past years, significant changes have taken place on the railway, including the renovation of railway stations, the introduction of many new trains, and the adoption of digital solutions.
This month brings another important and noticeable change – the new uniform for Slovenian Railways employees.
On December 10, Slovenian Railways bids farewell to the existing blue uniform, which has had a tradition of almost 30 years.
This uniform was introduced after Slovenia gained independence in 1994, featuring the well-known Slovenian Railways logo designed by architect Nino Kovačič.
The railway also adheres to a dress code for both staff interacting with passengers and those involved in operational roles, each having the appropriate protective attire.
In 2021, Slovenian Railways updated its overall graphic identity, with most elements undergoing minor changes and modernization.
However, the most significant change is evident in the staff uniforms.
The manual for the graphic identity comprises over 220 pages, with approximately 20 pages dedicated to the general image of specialized clothing and uniforms.
The new service uniforms come in a dark blue color, including dark blue trousers or a skirt, a white shirt with blue accents on buttons, collar, and sleeves, a blue jacket, and a blue waterproof jacket with an integrated hood.
The men’s uniform also includes a light blue tie, while the women’s uniform features a light blue scarf with the logo.
Contrasting fabric with a subtle pattern of varying shades of blue is sewn into the collar and sleeves.
Controllers (accompanying personnel on trains) wear blue caps, while conductors and engineers wear red ones.
A silver emblem of Slovenske železnik is embroidered on all parts of the uniform except for trousers and skirts.
