Each of the three-car units reaches a top speed of 160 km/h, with a seating for up to 350 people, 160 of them seated. Passenger accessible areas, special areas for bicycles, and strollers were included in the areas designed by designers.

The train is equipped with air conditioning, power sockets, ticket vending machines, and Wi-Fi for free. Due to the top-class interior design and ergonomics, it remains highly comfortable even at peak hours of travel.

Elf3.0 Electric Train Consolidates the Mobility of the Łód

Signging of the 14 Elf3.0 electric train contract occurred in 2023–2024, at a value of about $106.9 million. Regional governments provided around $70.5 million since they consider the development of railways a strategic investment in the region’s future sustainability.

The new fleet will run on current connections to enlarge frequency of services and will also inaugurate on new links. The train links Łódź with Płock, Warsaw, Łowicz, and Radom, and also on a yet-to-be-built 7.5-kilometer-long underground tunnel between Łódź Fabryczna, Łódź Kaliska, and Łódź Żabieniec stations.

Experts believe Elf3.0 series is a new regional mobility model. The series lowers the cost of doing business, saves energy, and facilitates the movement of Poland towards environmentally friendly transport.

PESA engineers have combined a recovered energy optimized system and a new body for the car, giving a lighter, quieter, and more energy-efficient train. These enhancements reaffirm PESA’s position as a prime European manufacturer of rolling stock.
