The second contract covers the supply of 21 trains for the Blue Line extension. Siemens Mobility will also upgrade SCADA systems to improve communication and dispatch operations. Maintenance services for the Blue Line will extend through 2039, ensuring continuous service.
Under the third contract, Siemens Mobility will modernize the railway linking Denchai, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Khong. Deliverables include ETCS Level 1 train control systems, axle counters, and rail circuits to optimize operations.
Long-Term Partnerships and Advanced Technologies
Siemens Mobility first collaborated with Bangkok’s metro during its initial construction phase. However, in 2019, the metro operator switched to J-TREC, a Japanese supplier, due to lower costs.
Higher maintenance expenses led the operator back to Siemens Mobility, reaffirming trust in the company’s solutions. These contracts highlight Siemens’ role in delivering innovative technologies that enhance transportation systems.
