Weekday and weekend schedules

On weekdays, the train will leave Stratford in the morning and return in the afternoon. The timetable is designed to support commuters traveling into Toronto.

Meanwhile, weekend service will run in the opposite direction. As Railway Supply notes, trains will leave Toronto in the morning. They will return in the evening for tourists and Stratford Festival visitors.

Part of Ontario public transit investment

Ontario government officials said in a press release that the Stratford expansion is part of Ontario’s broader CA$70 billion public transit investment. The province says it aims for all-day, two-way service on GO Transit’s busiest rail lines. It also plans to expand service to new communities. Those communities are in the Durham, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton and Niagara regions.

GO Transit is the regional public transit service for greater Ontario. It is a division of Metrolinx, the provincially run agency.
