STB case status page is now part of the Surface Transportation Board website, giving users a clearer look at where board proceedings stand. The tool also shows when the next expected action may take place, when that timing is available.

STB case status page brings proceedings into clearer view

The new feature sits under the “Proceedings & Actions” tab, where the board now lists its Case Status page. It takes the earlier periodic case updates and presents them as a more formal, systematic public resource, with particular attention to the longest-running proceedings before the board.

Those updates began last year under STB Chairman Patrick Fuchs. The board plans to refresh the page on Wednesdays, so the public has a more predictable way to track the current stage of proceedings and possible next steps.

In an official STB announcement, Fuchs said the Surface Transportation Board is working to strengthen transparency across the agency and better serve the public. He said the Case Status page gives people clearer visibility into board work, sets more predictable expectations for board actions, helps the marketplace plan with greater confidence, and supports continued growth of the U.S. economy.

Website updates expand public access to STB information

The case status page comes as the latest item in a wider series of STB website updates. The board has also launched an Open Data Portal, improved search functions, and added stronger options for users who need to save and share search results.

Taken together, the changes make the website more useful for people tracking Surface Transportation Board case status information, public proceedings, and related agency actions.
