Station Toilets Refurbishment Improves Two Stations
24.05.2026
Station toilets refurbishment at Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe stations has now been completed, following a £500,000 improvement programme. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The upgraded facilities are open to passengers and visitors, with free-to-use access at both locations. According to TransPennine Express, the work included new toilets, urinals and sinks, creating cleaner and more welcoming station facilities.
Station Toilets Refurbishment Covers Accessible Facilities
The project also included upgrades to accessible toilets at Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe stations.
Scott Olivant, Head of Property Projects at TransPennine Express, said: “Good station facilities really matter, and these improvements will make a noticeable difference for people using Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe stations.

“We’ve focused on making the toilets cleaner, brighter and easier for everyone to use, including customers who need accessible facilities.”
Cleethorpes Station Also Gains Wider Accessibility Improvements
The toilet works follow other accessibility improvements already delivered at Cleethorpes station. Among them is a new Changing Places facility, which opened on the station concourse in early 2025.
The Changing Places facility is a larger accessible toilet for people who need more room and specialist equipment. It includes an adult-sized changing bench, a hoist, a privacy screen and additional space for carers.
Its addition has helped make Cleethorpes station and the wider area more accessible for customers and visitors travelling through Cleethorpes.
