This ambitious project benefits from financial support provided by the Czech Ministry of Transport, which promotes modernization. The upgrades will ensure enhanced operational efficiency while maintaining compatibility with Poland’s existing networks.
Stadler Implements New Technology for Enhanced Operations
The upgrades will be executed at Stadler’s facility in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, combining hardware installation with software enhancements. Local suppliers in the Czech Republic will also contribute to the project, fostering regional industry involvement.
Key technical advancements include integrating the 25kV/50Hz system into the Train Control and Management System (TCMS). Diagnostic systems will also be improved, providing better oversight and operational reliability.
A critical addition is the control element for switching between dual traction systems, ensuring compatibility across different rail networks. Extensive testing—covering weight assessments, body strength, and safety compliance—will finalize the modernization process.
This collaboration between Stadler and Leo Express signifies a leap forward in Central European railway technology. The upgrades will increase train reliability, improve operational range, and align with broader modernization efforts. By combining innovation and regional collaboration, Stadler and Leo Express ensure the future of rail transport in the region.
