“We are proud to bring Stadler trams to Milan, elevating passenger comfort and safety,” said Iñigo Parra. “TRAMLINK combines innovation, performance, and accessibility for a superior travel experience.”

Milan’s Expanding Tram Network with Stadler Vehicles

Milan boasts a 160-kilometer tram network across 17 active lines, reinforcing its role as Italy’s tram capital. “This project blends tradition with cutting-edge transport solutions,” said Arrigo Giana.

ATM introduced tram number 7701 at the Messina depot before deploying it on lines 7 and 31. Today, these trams officially began operation across the city, enhancing daily commutes.

These 25-meter-long Stadler trams consist of three modules and feature Milan’s signature yellow design. As ATM’s first bi-directional trams, they offer 66 durable seats and designated wheelchair spaces.

A low-floor layout and three wide doors per side ensure easy access for all passengers. Additional ramps further improve accessibility, benefiting individuals with reduced mobility.

Innovative pivoting bogies allow Stadler trams to navigate Milan’s tight city-center curves smoothly. This advanced technology significantly reduces noise levels, improving comfort for both passengers and residents.

Passenger, driver, and pedestrian safety remain a top priority in the Stadler tram design. Large front windows enhance visibility for operators, while blind-spot cameras improve overall security.

Each tram features full air-conditioning, USB charging ports, and a real-time passenger information system. Onboard digital screens provide updates about routes, stops, and general city announcements.

With state-of-the-art technology and superior ride quality, Stadler trams enhance Milan’s transport system. These vehicles contribute to a more efficient, sustainable, and passenger-focused urban mobility experience.
