The fleet of two trains temporarily ceased operations on the Montreux-Interlaken tourist line in February after the wear of switch points was discovered, according to the railway magazine Railway Supply.

The issue was resolved by reducing the distance between the wheelsets by a few millimeters. This limited their lateral movement and reduced the risk of accidental damage to switch components.

Over the course of five months, Ukrainian Railways (UZ) has repaired over 400 km of tracks

It is worth noting that a special EV09 carriage was created for this project, which allows for changing the track gauge (1000 mm / 1435 mm, +43%) and adjusting the height of the body for platforms at 350/550 mm.

The EV09 carriage was developed by the Swiss company Prose, but subsequent serial improvements were carried out by the French company Alstom on the EV18 carriage.

The new carriage design required modifications to the body, as it increased the weight of the carriage by 1 tonne.
