Stadler and KISS Train Manufacturing

The trains will be manufactured at Stadler Polska’s Siedlce factory. The Siedlce plant has significant experience in the production of European market region trains and has high standards in all endeavors.

The six-car trainsets will be able to run at speeds of up to 160 km/h. The trains will have 611 seats and will accommodate an additional 770 standing passengers, giving added capacity on busy regional services.

Comfort is always a priority for passengers. The trains are fitted with video surveillance systems and air-conditioning and circulating fans and free Wi-Fi. Additionally, low-floor and barrier-free design allows passengers with disabilities to board and alight easily.

Stadler obtains Slovakia’s ZSSK contract

Previously provided KISS sets already operate on the Bratislava – Nové Zámky and Bratislava – Trenčín/Púchov routes. The recent deployment will allow ZSSK to increase service coverage, reduce delays, and improve inter-regional connectivity.

Experts are keen on cutting operating costs by investing in electric trains and participating in the reduction of CO₂ emissions. Hence, Stadler’s exports to Slovakia are significant to the overall agenda of modernizing Central Europe’s rail network.
