In the past 24 hours, several sources have reported on the alleged departure of Swiss company Stadler Rail (Stadler Bussnang AG) from Belarus, according to the Railway Supply portal, citing the Belarusian Railway Community.

Stadler Rail leaving Belarus?

According to these reports, the company, which has been involved in localized production of rolling stock in Fanipol (Dzerzhinsky District, Minsk Region) since 2014, is purportedly leaving the country.

The Fanipol facility has been responsible for assembling rolling stock based on orders from various countries, including metro cars, trams, and sleeping cars. Notably, it recently produced a series of five-car electric trains, Flirt, for the Belarusian Railway.

Belarusian Railway reduces the volume of freight transportation

Due to the imposition of sanctions against Belarus, the production output at the facility has declined as some countries have discontinued cooperation with companies located in sanctioned territories. However, claims of a complete cessation of operations at the Fanipol plant are premature.

According to internal information, there are no immediate plans to downsize the workforce or shut down production at the Stadler plant in Minsk. Currently, the plant has open positions for qualified workers, and the level of wages remains sufficiently high for the region.

The plant continues to execute projects for the production and supply of rolling stock to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, in addition to providing service maintenance for the electric trains acquired by the Belarusian Railway.

Thus, the statements about the closure of the plant in Belarus are currently unfounded and unreliable. The Fanipol plant, engaged in the production of electric trains, will continue its operations despite the misinformation being circulated on social media, as stated by the Belarusian Railway Community.
